Ebneter Cultural Summer
Ebnet Castle
€5.00 - €17.00
From May 8 to May 22, 2026, the Ebnet Summer of Culture will once again open its doors at Ebnet Castle and the Kulturscheune Freiburg-Ebnet for a multifaceted cultural festival that combines music, readings, lectures and discussions in an inspiring atmosphere.
The 2026 program offers a journey through musical genres and cultural forms:
- Gypsy jazz with the Nehemia Reinhardt Trio transports you to the soundscape of the 1930s (May 8).
- With "Wilde Wälder: G'schrei, G'joohmer und Blaare", the audience can expect a powerful, rhythm-driven performance that combines traditional Black Forest sounds with contemporary joy of playing (May 9).
- On the morning of May 10, a piano matinée with Charel Hoffmann and Luis Thaler invites you to a musical treat with young pianists.
- The reading "Seerauchen" with Sabine Eschbach on May 11 offers literary depth, taking a penetrating look at otherness and social tensions.
- Other highlights in the program include acoustic tributes (Bruce Springsteen cover on 15 May), hard rock tributes (Stargazer on 16 May) and multicultural ensembles such as Huljet with Klezmer-Balkan swing (18 May) and the brass concert "In Medias Brass" (17 May).
- A special format is the Philosophical Series with lecture and discussion, which is dedicated to the thinking of Hannah Arendt on May 20.
- A programmatic highlight of the "Zeitgeister" series will conclude on 22 May with music and discussion on poetry settings by Ossip Mandelstam and Paul Celan.
