Opening service for the new parish of Our Lady

On January 1, 2026, the 36 new parishes, which are also parishes, were officially launched in the Archdiocese of Freiburg, including the parish of Freiburg Unsere Liebe Frau / Kirchengemeinde Freiburg i.Br. What has been planned since 2021 as part of Church Development 2030 by numerous full-time and voluntary workers is now being implemented and tested in practice on site.

The official opening service for the new Freiburg parish of Our Lady will take place on Tuesday, January 27 at 6.30 pm in Freiburg Minster. This will include the solemn investiture (introduction) of the new parish priest Alexander Halter and the appointment of the new core team - consisting of the parish priest, his deputy (Siegfried Huber) and the head of administration (Dr. Ruth Scholz) - as well as the new administrative board. In addition to the parish priest and his deputy, the latter also includes the parish economist (Markus Kaupp) and his deputy (Stefanie Pfefferle).
