European Nature Photographer of the Year - Award-winning images from the 2023 competition of the GDT/Gesellschaft für Naturfotografie e.V.

Exhibits
WaldHaus (Forest House) Freiburg
Since its foundation more than 50 years ago, the GDT has been committed to nature photography that is committed to authenticity, nature conservation and high artistic quality. For the second time, the forest house (WaldHaus) is showing a selection of award-winning photos from this renowned competition. On display are breathtaking images from the 2023 award winners. The exhibition will be opened this evening.

These include touching photos from a documentary about the endangered African forest elephant in central Gabon by Jasper Doest, who won the Fritz Pölking Prize for his work. Mateusz Piesiak's portfolio on the sunflower paradise for wintering birds in his native Poland is also impressive. He was the winner of the Fritz Pölking Youth Prize 2023. The pictures in this exhibition impressively demonstrate the beauty and uniqueness of nature, but also its fragility in the face of the global biodiversity and climate crisis.
